Lessons are offered at lengths of 30 minutes, 45 minutes, and 60 minutes to suit each student's needs. Generally, 1-hour lessons are recommended and are the standard to give enough time to focus on a variety of goals. For students with shorter attention spans, the 30 or 45 minute sessions may be preferable. If you are unsure of what length is right for you, Emma is happy to offer her advice and you may switch the duration of your lessons at any time.

After you book your selected lesson type, duration, and location, Emma will contact you to arrange a weekly lesson time that works for your schedules. Emma's general teaching hours are Monday-Thursday; her schedule is currently quite full but she will work to accommodate your needs as best as possible.

Emma offers in-studio lessons, located in Little Italy in Toronto, as well as online lessons which are conducted through Zoom. You may select your preference upon booking. If you find you'd like to switch from one location to the other after starting, this can be easily facilitated.

Emma accepts payment via cash, cheque, or e-transfer. To allow for financial flexibility, she offers lessons on a pay-as-you-go basis and you can pay for each individual lesson the day it is scheduled for. If you are interested in long-term payment plans or class packages, please include this in your booking message and Emma is happy to discuss options that suit your needs.
- 06
Lessons are provided once per week. How long you continue is up to you and a discussion to have with your teacher. It is recommended to commit to a minimum of 8 lessons in order to give enough time to work towards your goals and develop a strong foundation.

When it comes to voice lessons, you can be an absolute beginner or a seasoned professional. For violin lessons, Emma works with absolute beginners to intermediate players. If you are taking adapted lessons, no prior musical experience is required.
- 08
Voice: as your instrument comes with you, no specific equipment is required.
Violin: you will need a functional violin and bow. A shoulder rest and music stand is recommended.
Adapted lessons: this will depend on your goals as well as if the lesson is in-studio or online.
Online: as a general note, online sessions require an internet-connected device with a webcam and mic (these may be built in, you don't need anything fancy!). A laptop or tablet work well.

Notice of cancellation/rescheduling 24 hours or more in advance is appreciated. Emma will always try to accommodate your needs and remain flexible - she understands life happens! While lessons are offered on a pay-as-you-go basis, if a lesson is missed/rescheduled with less than 24 hours notice, full payment for the scheduled lesson will be required and if a lesson is missed/rescheduled with less than 48 hours notice, half of the lesson fee will be required.
